Here at Wallace Stuart, our goal has always been to provide high-quality, affordable, and caring funeral services throughout our local area. From Somerset and Bridgwater through to Burnham-on-Sea and Yeovil, we create personal relationships with all of our families to ensure they believe they have done their very best for their loved ones.

To meet all the unique needs of our customers, we recognised the importance of looking to other leaders within our industry. Which is why we turned to The Good Funeral Guide early on – a trusted, independent, and not-for-profit information resource for funeral advice. The author, Charles Cowling, became somewhat of a muse for us with his advocacy for making sensitive and caring funerals available to everyone. The guide became somewhat of a handbook, helping us to grow a business that focuses on best practices, the needs of our customers, and an ethical drive.

The Good Funeral Guide

Entirely independent of the funeral industry, the Good Funeral Guide is dedicated to supporting, empowering, and representing the interests of dying and bereaved people living in the UK. Originally launched by Cowling, it is now run by the dedicated and passionate Fran Hall.

Each year, The Good Funeral Guide holds a glittering awards evening, hosted by different celebrities every year. It is an evening of praising those ‘unsung heroes’ of the funeral industry. That is, those who go that extra mile to be special and stand out from the rest.

Wallace Stuart is delighted to join the ranks of funeral directors recommended by this well-respected non-profit resource. We now appear in the Highly Recommended Directory of The Good Funeral as Wallace Stuart Independent Directors. In 2013, one of our families notified us that we had been nominated in the category, ‘Most Promising New Funeral Director’ – a nomination that generated a great deal of pride within our teams. Lel and Sarah were immensely proud to win this award and in the years to follow, went on to win 5 more awards within the funeral industry. Lel and Sarah were the first and only funeral directors to win these awards in Somerset – ladies were paving the way for others to follow!

As a locally-based business, this is a great achievement for us. It indicates to our families that we offer a comforting and professional service – perfect for when they put their loved ones to rest. Across Yeovil, Burnham-on-Sea, and Weston-Super-Mare, we continue to be a popular option. And, with our dedication to our customers, we strive to continue this for many more years to come.

Wallace Stuart will continue to work hard to be the best of the best and to provide a service that makes us your first choice when planning a funeral.
